Every morning there's that moment. You know the one just after your alarm goes off before you sit up? Every bone, muscle and joint feels the way it should, the way it did in your teens and twenties. Back then, you could put your body through the rigors of any activity and bounce back as if it never happened. Today, however, you have to sit up, put your feet on the floor and get through the day in spite of the aches and pains you might be experiencing from your newly rediscovered fitness routine.

Fortunately, you don't have to accept that physical fitness after 50 and pain go hand in hand.

Your Cells Need Help

Every one of the more than 70 trillion cells in the body relies on electrical energy to stay healthy. When the electrical current that naturally runs throughout the body is low, the cells cannot effectively metabolize energy, communicate with one another, ward off disease, or heal the body. As a result, the cells begin to deteriorate, losing valuable nutrients along the way. Think of your cells like grapes. When grapes have adequate water, they are plump and juicy and resemble a grape in size and structure. As the grape gets older, it dries out and shrivels, eventually becoming a raisin. The same can be said about the cells in your body. With age, disease, illness, and injury, the electrical current in the body changes and cells are not able to receive adequate fluid and nutrition, eventually becoming like raisins.

What is Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy?

Fortunately, there is a therapy that recharges the electrical current in the cells in the body. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) has been used to treat soft tissue and bone damage for more than 60 years and is FDA approved to speed healing throughout the body. More recently, PEMF has been used to treat old injuries that did not heal well, muscle aches and pains and cellular damage that happens as a result of aging or chronic illness. PEMF is fast, painless, non-invasive and drug-free.

Patients lie on a mat that emits pulses of electromagnetic waves through the body. This energy stimulates cells to metabolize energy, get rid of cellular waste, regenerate damaged areas, and remain healthy. As a result, parts of the body that have been damaged through accident, injury, illness, or exercise are repaired by the body's own healing response without medication or surgery. Best of all, PEMF therapy can be done in just a few minutes, but the effects last for several hours or even days.

PEMF works on a molecular level to treat pain and inflammation in the body, regardless of the reason. Trying to get fit after 50? PEMF can help your muscles relax while repairing the microtears that happen during exercise. PEMF can also:

  • Reduce the effects of stress in the body
  • Improve energy, sleep quality and circulation
  • Repair bone and soft tissue
